Dr. Sylvia Pirtle, an experienced elementary principal, will begin serving as Interim Principal at Baty Elementary School on October 21. Dr. Pirtle brings over four decades of experience as an educator, campus leader, and leadership coach dedicated to improving student outcomes. She began her career as a classroom teacher in Austin ISD and later served as a principal for more than a decade. She holds a Ph.D. in School Improvement from Texas State University and has been recognized with the Edwin Hindsman Presidential Award for her service on behalf of children.
