CIRCULATION
Pre-Kinder/Kinder/1st/PPCD: Students may check out 1 book at a time
Grade 2nd–5th: Students may check out 2 books at a time
Parents may check out an additional 2 books.
Parent must be present to check out books under their name. Students cannot check out books under their parents’ account. Your account is tied to your child/children’s and they will be unable to check out books for themselves if you have overdue books. Please return books as soon as you are done with them.
STUDENT ID NUMBER
All 2nd -5th grade students have a 5-digit student ID number. Please help students learn this number. This number is used in the library and Classlink and will be used throughout their time at DVISD, therefore it is important for them to know this number.
FINES/LOST BOOKS
There is no fine for overdue books at Baty. However, there is a fine for lost or damaged books. Damaged books have a 10¢ charge per page and a minimum 25¢ for cover damage. Damaged books beyond repair need to be replaced, and will be charged the replacement cost of the book. Students who owe money to the library may not check out additional books until the fine is cleared.
Please do not try to repair any damaged books. Please do not tape money to the books. Further damage may occur. Any lost books will need to be paid for in order to replace them. Replacement costs for books range from $5.00 - $40.00 each. Students who are or have been consistently irresponsible with materials may be limited to 1 book and/or will not be allowed to take them home.
I encourage all students and parents to utilize the library. All students will be allowed to check out books. However, if you feel hesitant about your child checking out materials, please let me know. We can make arrangements.
