Mayra Vega Salinas, LMSW

Mayra V. Salinas (Ms. Salinas) was born and raised in the Austin area. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and her Master of Social Work from Texas State University.

Mayra is excited to be a part of the Baty Elementary team and work alongside students to help them grow and maximize their strengths! She has 6 years of experience in working with children and families in a variety of settings. Mayra believes in creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment for all students. Through connection, empathy, and empowerment, students at Baty can learn to be more successful in and outside the classroom.

In her free time, Mayra enjoys spending time with her family, eating her favorite foods, relaxing in the water, and exercising.

Kristina Gray, Counselor

Kristina Gray was born in Laredo, Texas. She attended Texas A&M International University and received her B.A. in Psychology/Sociology and later, received her M.A. in Psychology. She received her alternative certificate for counseling through Region 13 to become a school counselor after 12 years of teaching in the lower grades in Title I schools. 

Her love of students coupled with a passion to help them overcome any obstacles is what has driven her as she enters her fifth year of counseling. She lives at home with her husband and her son.
